Iota Upsilon had seven members attend the state convention this year; Jan Leonard (Chapter President), Cathy Burke, Jenny Harrison, Lawana Jones, Lana Schwartz, Sherry Shaw, and Penny Walker.
Here are thoughts from one of the attendees Sherry Shaw.
"What impressed me most at the Lubbock convention were the excellent speakers.
At the opening session we heard William ”Bear” Mills who spoke to us about how he was mentored in his life and how we can do the same for someone. It was both interesting and inspiring.
At the ASTEF event, we heard Coach Steve Gomez. He is the women’s basketball coach at LCU with a successful record as a coach and one who inspires his team with a philosophy of faith in God, family and other relationships, and a completive spirit. He also kept us on our toes as he threw out tee shirts with the school logo. ( I didn’t catch one!)
liamentarian. I expected a boring presentation of Robert’s Rules of Order, and, instead, got a comedy routine of sorts as we laughed at many of the things she had to say. This was a refreshing speech which we needed as the convention came to a close.
Thanks to all of the members of Iota Upsilon who helped us attend this convention.
Hope each of you have an opportunity one day to attend one."
